Meet Dr. David Cooper , Snr. Pastor , Mount Paran Church of God , Atlanta, GA
Undoubtedly the Senior Pastor of the most 'multicultural' Church in Georgia.
Dr. David Cooper’s personal life mission is to give the world hope in Christ. He has a unique manner of sharing biblical truth in a simple, down-to-earth style that anyone can understand. He currently serves as Senior Pastor of the 10,000+ member Mount Paran Church in Atlanta, Ga.
He holds the B.A. in Psychology from Lee University; the M. Ed. in Counseling from the University of Georgia; and the Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) from Erskine Theological Seminary.
Dr. Cooper serves as adjunct professor in counseling, at the Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta, Georgia. He also serves as Chairman of the Board for the School of Ministry for the Church of God and as a member of the Council of 18 for the Church of God. He is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). He serves on the Chaplain’s Prayer Committee for the Georgia State House of Representatives.

Dr. Cooper currently offers two teaching seminars for churches: Maximum Marriage and The One-Month Leadership Manager: Core Values for Life and Ministry.
He is a guitarist, singer and songwriter and performs his original contemporary Christian music with his band Open Door (www.opendoorband.com) for churches, civic organizations, prisons and urban ministries. His CD’s, The Road Not Taken and Time Fades Away, feature his original music (available at I-Tunes Store). He has also published several worship songs such as “Mercies Never Ceasing,” and “God Will Make A Way” distributed by River Springs Publishing and Worship Today.
His messages are on the radio program, Discover Life and on the Streaming Faith website. He is a featured motivational speaker for business and civic organizations. His teaching ministry is also featured on the Mount Paran website www.mountparan.com. He and Barbie have two children,. His personal hobbies and interests include running and strength training, basketball, skiing, jazz guitar and writing music.
